Last weekend, my husband and I squeezed in a whirlwind 24-hour trip to Austin—and it felt a little like coming home! Being UT alumni, the city always has that nostalgic pull.
We arrived late Saturday and jumped straight into the main event: a concert by Minus the Bear. The music, the energy, the vibe—what a way to kick off our quick getaway!
Sunday morning, we fueled up with breakfast at the iconic El Arroyo—tacos, laughs, and, of course, those legendary witty signs. Afterward, we wandered down South Congress, popping into boutiques and soaking in the city’s vibrant personality. We also swung by the F1 Hub and took a quick lap around COTA to see all the hoopla around the Formula 1 race—it was a lot of excitement packed into just a few hours!
Even in just 24 hours, Austin reminded us why it always feels like home: great food, great music, and a city that’s full of life.
Stepping into the Magic
This September, I had the incredible opportunity to join my fellow Glass Slipper Concierge advisors for a behind-the-scenes trip to the Disneyland® Resort—and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped onto Main Street, U.S.A., I was immersed in a world of color, sound, and joy. The parks were bursting with Halloween charm: pumpkins glowed along the sidewalks, festive décor adorned every corner, and seasonal treats tempted every taste bud. Disney’s attention to detail reminded me why this is a place where imagination comes to life.
Exploring the Hotels
One of my favorite moments was exploring the newly refreshed hotels. Walking through the lobbies, seeing updated touches, and experiencing resort amenities firsthand gave me invaluable insight into the best ways to recommend accommodations for my clients. Every room, every corner, felt thoughtfully designed to enhance the guest experience—and I couldn’t wait to bring that knowledge back to my planning services.
Experiencing the Parks
No Disneyland visit would be complete without experiencing the parks themselves. From classic attractions to seasonal overlays, I took note of every detail that could elevate a guest’s visit. I also discovered hidden gems—quiet spots perfect for families to recharge, the best vantage points for magical photo opportunities, and insider tips that only come from being onsite.
Bringing the Magic Back Home
This trip was more than just a fun getaway; it was an education in the art of Disney magic. Every ride, parade, and character encounter reinforced why careful planning can transform a vacation from memorable to truly unforgettable. I returned inspired, full of ideas, and ready to help my clients craft seamless, magical Disney vacations tailored to their dreams.
Looking Ahead to New Adventures
And the excitement doesn’t stop there! From new cruise options to upcoming 2026 experiences, there’s so much more magic on the horizon. I’m thrilled to continue exploring and sharing the very best ways to make every Disney trip extraordinary.
Whether you’re planning your first visit or returning for a beloved tradition, my goal is to bring insider knowledge, personal touches, and stress-free planning to every vacation—so you can focus on enjoying the moments that matter most.
